Gifted Wishes Granting Policy
Thank you for your interest in providing a Gifted Wish for your patient. We rely on donated funds to make last dreams come true, and to make the end of life as meaningful and fulfilling as possible.
We fundraise by sharing patients’ wishes. This is why it is vitally important for us to receive patient photos related to the wish. We respect and understand that patients do not feel or look their best, but this is their opportunity to help pay it forward, so that we can receive funds for the next wishes. Let us know if you need a photo release.
Who is eligible to be a Gifted Wish Recipient?
Any person, of any age, who is currently receiving hospice treatment and has a wish, is eligible. A Wish Recipient can be referred by a social worker, a caregiver, or a medical professional.
Our base requirement is that the person receiving the Gifted Wish be receiving hospice treatment, and has extremely limited funds.
We ask for details about the patient, their condition, their specific wish, why their wish is important, as well as a photo of the Wish Recipient during their wish. We will use this information in an effort to educate people about the philosophy of hospice care and about our work granting Gifted Wishes. We will never use a Wish Recipients full name or identifiable information.
The IRS requires that we have the name and address of the Wish Recipient.
What types of wishes are not covered?
We will not cover or provide means for a Gifted Wish for cremation or funeral expenses, utilities, lift chairs or for the purchase of firearms, or activities that endanger a person’s life such as skydiving, et al.
